Create a document register
List the diploma, transcript, pending-graduation evidence, identity evidence and other required files. For each, record the issuer, original language, acceptable format and deadline. Keep the exact official instruction beside the item. A generic agency checklist can create unnecessary expense or miss a department-specific requirement.
Separate the purpose of each step
Translation makes information readable in the required language. Certification, notarisation or authentication may address authenticity or an official process. Degree verification can be another separate requirement. Do not assume that a translated diploma has been authenticated, or that one stamp will be accepted by every Chinese university.
Put this guide into practice
Create a short record for your intended programme. Add the relevant notice or document beside each item; leave unpublished details marked “to confirm”.
- Accepted document language and translation requirements
- Required verification, notarisation or authentication
- Consistent names and evidence of relevant nationality history
Keep names and records consistent
Use the same spelling as the passport where the application asks for it. If a previous name or a different transliteration appears on a qualification, ask what explanation is needed. Check every page, grading key and institution name in a translation. A small omission can leave an admissions officer unable to interpret the record.
Send only through the right channel
Use the official admissions portal for requested files. Keep full identity scans out of an initial consultation form. Before using a provider, confirm the scope, handling of personal files and delivery time. Retain your originals and the version submitted so later verification can be traced.
Requirements depend on the university, programme, intake and your circumstances.
FAQ
Do all overseas diplomas need the same authentication?
No. Follow the current university and programme instructions for your qualification and issuing country. Tsinghua’s 2027 guide is an institution-specific example.
