Separate four cost groups
Build a worksheet for university charges, living costs, preparation and arrival, and an emergency reserve. University charges may include tuition, an application charge or other published items. Preparation can include tests and required document work. Keep Noka’s optional service fee in its own line so it is not confused with an official charge.
Ask when payments are due
An annual total is not a payment schedule. Confirm what must be paid before registration, whether instalments are permitted and which housing deposits are refundable. If money is coming from family or savings abroad, plan access and payment timing instead of assuming a new local account is immediately available.
Put this guide into practice
Create a short record for your intended programme. Add the relevant notice or document beside each item; leave unpublished details marked “to confirm”.
- Fee amount, charging period and academic year
- Cost you must cover if funding is delayed or not awarded
- Payment dates, payee and refund conditions
Stress-test the plan
Consider a housing change, a delayed funding result and a period without paid work. Decide what spending can be reduced and which costs are unavoidable. Compare a different city, institution, later intake or shorter language course if the total is too tight. An affordable plan should allow you to focus on study.
Set a decision boundary
Write the maximum total cost and the date by which you need financial certainty. Avoid paying a non-refundable charge because you feel you have already invested too much preparation. A good decision can be to wait, narrow the course list or apply independently. An enquiry does not require buying a package.
Requirements depend on the university, programme, intake and your circumstances.
FAQ
Should I count a hoped-for internship salary as guaranteed funding?
No. Work and internships require the applicable permissions, may not be available and may conflict with your study schedule.
